Ed Dwyer from: MIdlands. UK | Hi, I wonder if you could please assist me with this problem. I am trying to use a standard "Is equal to" filter on a field with a Char datatype in an MS SQL 2K database. I continually get the message: Your filter is invalid! [MITMAS].[MMITNO] = 000804 - when I try to filter with an all numeric value. However, when I use a filter value beginning with a non-numeric character it works fine (e.g. Filter(s): [MITMAS].[MMITNO] = '#112040'). Additionally, if I use the same all numeric value in a "Contains" filter on the same field, again it works no problem. I have download and installed the latest program version today and even tried including the .DatabaseType = "SQLSERVER" line in the Reports.asp file, but again still no success. Your help will be really appreciated. Regards - Ed

ghost from: Washington, DC | This error happens because the report wizard is trying to evaluate your character field as integer. We will try to fix this problem by the next minor release. For now just use the Contains or the Starts with filter options. thanx! ------------------------- Ghost
