scotthibbs from: Philadelphia, PA | We just started to include the report wizard on test asp.net pages. When attempting to use tlbimp.exe to import the type library, we get: "TblImp warning: Interface IRecFields is marked as [dual], but does not derive from iDispatch. It will be converted as an iUnknown-derived interface." Is that an expected message????

ghost from: Washington, DC | We have never had that error, but I think it has something to with ADO/ADO.NET. Let me know if it works anyway. ------------------------- Ghost

scotthibbs from: Philadelphia, PA | Did not work when that message was produced. However, it seemed to go away by itself. tlbimp.exe seems to function fine now. I hate when that happens.

scotthibbs from: Philadelphia, PA | Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. The result of the tlbimp problem is that the report object will not run. I get: "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Type mismatch" It is also odd that when tlbimp.exe runs and complains with the error message I started this thread with, it does create a dll.....AND it creates an ADODB.DLL. Is the ADODB.DLL expected to be created? Don't know what to do with this, the website is moving to .NET soon...and I'm stuck on this issue.

ghost from: Washington, DC | No, it's not supposed to create an ADODB.DLL. What kind of system are you using? ------------------------- Ghost

scotthibbs from: Philadelphia, PA | OK....this must be the heart of the matter. I am using a new Windows XP SP2 notebook. It never had any old versions of MDAC installed. Could that be related? When you compile your object, what version of ADO are you using?
