Hi
When exporting float/decimal values to Excel, everything looks OK in the Excel file. However, when I then try to summarise a column, only non-decimal values are included in the summary:
Ex:
YTVIKT_POP_RIKTVARDE
86,25
80
80
80
80
80
80
92,5
105
105
105
105
900 (SUMMARY OF COLUMN)
Help !!!!!

Does this happen while you are within excel or in the report wizard?
If in the report wizard, can you please send me a screen shot?

This has to do with your computer's localization.
MS Excel thinks that 86,25  and 92,5 are text values.
Change them to 86.25  and 92.5 and see if it makes any difference.

You can however change your computer settings from the control panel as shown below:

Goto: Start ->Settings->Control Panel->Regional Options
Select: Numbers tab and set your Decimal Symbol to "." or ","

Thanks Ghost
I agree that this is probably a formatting problem, but the comma is the standard decimal devider here in Sweden. Changing in Windows or Excel doesn't make any differnece.
What supprised me though was that if I replaced all commas with commas (yes you read correctly) then Excel formatted everything as decimals. Thats why I suspect that the problem is in tha API and not in Excel itself.
Back at you :-)

I've now installed the latest version and I have checked the national settings on the sql server, the IIS server and my client. All are running with 1.000.000,00 as standard format for decimals.
When I look att the formatting possibility in websolution, I see that the format is 1,000,000.00 I think this is what is causing the problem.
As 1.000.000,00 is the standard swedish format, I cannot accept anything else. Is there any way to fix this (in which case I will buy an upgrade for 2 servers!)

It depends on your computer settings not IIS or SQL Server.
Make sure your localization is set to Swedish.

Below is a screen shot from one of our servers I just changed to Swedish to test and works just fine.

Swedish locale example

To change control settings on Win2000
Goto: Start ->Settings->Control Panel->Regional Options
Select: General tab and set your location to Swedish as shown below:

setting swedish locale

Let me know if this helps

What you have to do is change the regional settings to apply for all users as follows:

Changing the settings in WinXP
Open the "Regional and Language Options" control panel. On the "Regional Options" tab set the locale you wish to use. Then, click on the Advanced tab and check the box at the bottom that it labelled "Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile"

Changing the settings in WinXP

Changing the settings in Win2k
Open the Regional Options control panel. On the general tab, press the "Set Default" button. Select the appropriate locale, and clck "OK" twice to exit the control panel. Windows will advise you that the changes will take effect after the next reboot.

Ghost,
I have a similar problem here in Spain. The Average and Totals are wrong in my reports wen I use decimal values.
The server Regional configuration is in Spain and numbers are in 123.123.123,12/0,5 notation.
Example:
1 Canarias   346     0,01       1,00
2 Centro    1.261     0,11     16,00
3 Este          646     0,03        2,50
4 Levante     362     0,93      78,00
5 Norte         179     0,01        0,33
6 Sur            829     0,06        6,75

Average        604   *2,17*    17,17
Total           3.623 *13,00* 103,00

The report data columns are in decimal: 1.000,00
Thanks for your help,
Jesus.

What happens to your data when you export to Excel - are you able to sum the decimal figures and get correct values?
